This software is probably some of the coolest software out there today. PicLens transforms your browser into a full-screen, 3D browser for online photos and videos. While its really mostly eye candy it actually does allow you to quickly view a large number of photos in a short time. The only drawback currently is the limited number of websites that are set up for this, however, they are some of the big name websites: Flickr, YouTube, Myspace, Facebook, Google, Yahoo and a few others.
First, when you are on a website that has the capability to run PicLens and you hover over a picture you will see the blue button with the “Play” symbol on it. Click to this begin using PicLens. The website on this example is on Flickr and I typed in the word Nature.
The next thing you see is what is shown above. The entire screen becomes this interactive browser. The dots at the bottom represent each picture that the website is pulling up pertaining to nature. You can click this bottom part with your mouse and move the shaded area left or right, moving the pictures along with you.
Once you have decided on a picture, clicking it once will highlight it with a white border and bring the picture closer up like in the picture below.
Once you double click the picture here it will bring it even closer.
And as you can see, you can now scroll through the pictures by clicking one of the arrows. You can also click on the play button and PicLens will begin slideshow of the pictures. One of the newest features is the ability to do this with videos.
In the upper left hand corner of the screen, they have placed a discovery link. Clicking on this link pulls up a list of different categories for different types of videos.
You can then click on whichever category you want to check out.
And of course then pull up the video of your liking. What an incredible piece of software. It’s a must have in my book, so go check it out here.

It was amazing to have piclens on your firefox browser because it is so nice when going through any kind of pic.. The ambience is nice and the black background blends all the way to any picture..
Thank you
